Privacy policy
This site runs Doorcamper, a tool for keeping track of Rust players on Steam. It's run by evolv.systems. This page explains what it stores, why, and the choices you have. Questions about your privacy: [email protected].
If you have an account
- Your username, stored encrypted, and your password, stored only as a one-way hash, so neither can be read from the database.
- A sign-in cookie with a random token. The server keeps only a hash of it. It ends when you sign out, or after 30 days.
- Your settings: page layouts, notification choices, pinned players, and the Steam, Discord and BattleMetrics accounts you link as your own (encrypted).
- If you set them up: Discord webhook addresses and push notification subscriptions, both encrypted.
- What you add: the players you track and your labels, notes and tags for them, your teams, base marks and reports, including screenshots.
- A log of account events (sign-ins, password changes, invites) that the site's admins can see. It doesn't record IP addresses.
About the players who are tracked
Doorcamper stores public Steam profile information: names, avatars, profile visibility, what they're playing, bans and public friend lists. When set up, it also stores public BattleMetrics information: in-game names, servers and play sessions. It only uses what Steam and BattleMetrics make public.
If you're one of the players being tracked and want your information removed, email [email protected].
Cookies and storage in your browser
- Necessary. One cookie keeps you signed in (rt_session) and one remembers your cookie choices (rt_consent). Your browser also keeps a few settings, like the theme. These can't be turned off, because the site doesn't work without them.
- Advertising (your choice). This site shows Google AdSense ads. If you allow advertising cookies, Google may use cookies to choose ads based on your interests. If you don't, Google shows only non-personalised ads, which use limited data. How Google uses data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can change your choice at any time with Cookies & privacy at the bottom of the sign-in page or in Settings.
Who else gets data
- Steam (Valve) and BattleMetrics, to look players up.
- Google, to show ads.
- Discord, if you set up a webhook: the alerts you choose are posted there.
- Your browser's push service (from Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft), if you turn on push alerts.
Your data isn't sold.
How long it's kept
Activity history is kept until the owner deletes it or sets a clean-up period. Copies of the database are kept as backups for about a week. Deleting an account deletes its players, teams, marks, webhooks and devices.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete your account and data. You can stop tracking players, delete marks and remove devices yourself at any time.
